Gaia’s Two Worlds

Deep within the dark forest of Western Illinois, there exists the tiny country town of Garrick, Illinois.

Among the less than one hundred residents is the Shipley family. The Shipley family consists of papa Darrell, mama Kate (Constellas), sons: Roger and Jesse; and daughters: Nikki, Gaia and Geraldine Shipley.

According to the town records, the Shipley family is the only Garrick family who have actually resided in that tiny town before the town was even developed.

In fact, the land the town sits on was once owned by Darrell’s great great grandparents Garrick and Geraldine Shipley. It was in Garrick’s namesake the tiny town was founded and developed.

Just as it is with other forest sited towns, Garrick too has a legend tied to it.

The legend is, according to the town historian Peggy Sue Hutton, before Earth time officially begun in that particular area of the dark forest in which Garrick sits was once the Earth dwelling of Gaia: the Earth goddess who according to the legend had an affair with a human male and gave birth to their human goddess daughter whom she named Icaria and whom the goddess raised partially as a goddess and partially as a human by herself after the mysterious disappearance of Icaria’s human father Garrick.

According to the same legend, Icaria is now a goddess herself and who to that day still resides in that very same dark forest.
