Princess Simaya’s Mission

Laura Hunter woke to the sound of ear piercing thunder and large hail hitting the bedroom windows.

She sat up on her large bed and looked out of the east side window. Laura could see the thunderstorm raging outside. Especially the blinding lightning that was coming in through the closed windows.

“Oh great!” Laura thought. “Just what I need. Well, I hate to do this to you, Mrs Turner, but I’m not coming in until this storm is over.”

Laura laid back down on the bed and soon fell back asleep.

Early that afternoon, Laura woke and saw the raging thunderstorm was over. She looked over at the wall clock and saw that it was one: twenty-three pm.

Just then, there was a knock on the front door. She got off the bed and went to the window that overlooked the side yard driveway.

Laura looked down onto the driveway. Immediately, Laura recognized the blue sedan owned by her boss Mrs Diana Turner.

Laura sighed, quickly changed into a short pink dress and pink sandals, left the bedroom and darted down the stairs into the living room to the front door.

The minute she opened the front door and saw the look on her boss’ face, Laura knew she was in big trouble.

Instead of yelling like she normally done, Mrs Turner calmly said, “I am disappointed in you, Laura Hunter.”

“But,” Laura sensed.

“But considering the raging thunderstorm we had this morning, I’m gonna give you one more chance.” Mrs Turner said. “If you pull this stunt again, you will be fired.”

“Yes, Mrs Turner.” Laura answered.

Mrs Turner turned on her heel and left Laura’s house.

Laura started to close the front door when she saw the mail truck pull into the driveway.

Mrs Turner got back into her sedan, made a U-Turn and left the estate.

The mail truck pulled up to the front door sidewalk and parked.

Mr Palmer, the handsome postman, got Laura’s mail, got out of the mail truck and approached the front door.

“Hi, Mr Palmer.” Laura smiled.

“Hi, Laura.” Mr Palmer smiled back handing Laura her mail. “Here’s your mail.

“Thanks, Mr Palmer.” Laura answered.

Mr Palmer nodded and returned to the mail truck. He got back into the mail truck, made a U-Turn and left Laura’s estate.

Laura closed the front door and crossed to the old worn out gray sofa and carefully sat down on it.

She looked through the mail … There was a beauty magazine, some junk mail, a letter from the Lincoln Tate AI Technology in Mannington, Florida, and a package from the Plankerd Planet Teleportation Headquarters in Washenfield, New York.

Laura put the magazine along with the junk mail on the coffee table and the package on the sofa beside her.

She opened the letter from the Lincoln Tate AI Technology, unfolded the letter and read it.

Laura refolded the letter and put it back in the envelope, put the letter on the coffee table, picked up the package from the Plankerd Planet Teleportation Headquarters, opened the package and removed the contents, put the envelope and contents except for the letter, which had a list of contents at the bottom of the letter.

Contents:

Laura read the letter.
