Amanda Babcock had just turned seven the day her mother New York socialite Goldie De Corda Babcock began taking her to the elegant afternoon dinner parties she and her best friend Louisa Peeler frequently attends.
Although papa Rodney Babcock didn’t approve, he object to it either. That is until Amanda turned sixteen and starts talking about quitting school because she didn’t feel like she no longer needed to attend school and just shy of one year one from graduating high school.
It is during this time when papa said “enough is enough” and puts a temporary stop to Amanda attending the elegant dinner parties with her mother.
However what this situation did do was put Amanda on a path of starting her own elegant parties.
