DeFargos Secret Alien Civilization

A small group of young Research Experts accepts a major research challenge project in a newly developed country town in Southern New Mexico on a land that has been declared a hotbed for UFO activity and discovers the town’s shocking hidden and deadly underground secret.

On a freezing cold winter night somewhere in the Colorado Mountains, a small group of young Research Experts (Ava, Ethan & Mureka) are having a secret conference. Purpose of their conference was to find a solution to their highly deadly situation.

As the result of participating in a major research challenge in Southern New Mexico, these Research Experts discovered a centuries old Alien related secret that could either save Humans from an actual Alien invasion or destroy the entire American Midwest if ended up in the wrong hands.

They knew they had discovered an alien species who have plans to take over Earth and were tempted to inform the Government.

Then again if they did that then the Military would be called in and the area in which they work would be taken over by the US Government and they would be ousted out.

They simply could not allow that to happen. Not until they were officially sure of how they could use the information they had found against their Alien Masters.

It has been said that DeFargos, New Mexico is a hotbed for UFO activity. Though it had never been proven true, the small group of Research Experts is about to find out this particular legend was one hundred percent true.

On the fifth of June in the year 1872 somewhere in the New Mexico wilderness, a mysterious aircraft landed in a small open area.

Its Inhabitants, an alien race of Humanized AIs, have secretly landed on Earth to build an underground city in which they could plot their Earth takeover.

Because of their high technological tools and skills, the Humanized AIs managed to get their underground city built in no time flat. After their underground city was finished, the Humanized AIs set up two laboratories.

They used one for building high alien weaponry and one for the creation of multiple alien diseases that could easily take out an entire Earth county. Before they could actually use them, they themselves fell victim to an Earth disease that still hadn’t been discovered yet and slowly over time, the Humanized AIs all died out.

A Century Later

Another aircraft landed in that exact same area of New Mexico with their own plans of taking over the Earth. However, there was one thing they weren’t counting on.

Deep underneath the New Mexico ground laid a major threat to everyone existing above ground. Hidden deep under the New Mexico ground lay a secret catacomb of highly advanced alien weaponry and a shaft of mysterious alien created diseases that could easily take out an entire county.

Because it wasn’t them who had created the weaponry or the mysterious alien diseases, the new race of Humanized AIs felt the need to document their findings in their own Humanesque language so only Humans could decipher their documents and not other alien species who had plans of taking over the Earth. Once they were done with writing warning documents, the Humanized AIs decided Earth would be too dangerous of a planet to try and conquer and left Earth for good.

Before they left Earth, the Humanized AIs hid the alien weaponry and alien disease labs so nobody could find them. But made the mistake of writing down their secret hideaway in one of the documents.

Half A Century Later

A different alien species, reptilian in nature, arrived on Earth in that exact same area and found the Humanized AIs’ secret documents only to discover they had no clue as to how they could decipher documents in human-like language.

Thus the purpose of their need for a small group of actual Human Research Experts to decipher the documents for them.

About a month earlier, a young woman graduated from the best Research Academy in the American Midwest and did it with honors.

Although she didn’t know much about thoroughly conducting research the day she attended her first class at the Richardson Research Academy in Springfield, Illinois, by the time Ava Douglass graduated from the academy, she was at the top of her field.

During her academy days, Ava expertly learned the ins and outs of the Research field and could conduct research in any environment under any circumstances.

Now since she had graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Research and working full time at the local library as their top researcher, Ava was ready to take on the greatest challenge of her young life. Ava searched the internet for the perfect opportunity to gain that challenge.

Nearly two weeks later, Ava found that challenge – a major research business in the newly developed New Mexico town of DeFargos was seeking a small team of researchers to unlock the mystery of the town’s legend.

Ethan Connery was a young researcher with a promising career ahead of him. Though he had recently been heartbroken by the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée and had almost lost his research career on account of it, Ethan found the same major research challenge opportunity and decided to try for it. If his plan works, the major research challenge would not only give him a chance to recover from his broken heart, but also the chance to rebuild his research career.

Way up in Alaska, a young couple (Lisa & Derek Rowland) longed for a change of scenery. Don’t get it wrong, They loved Alaska and enjoyed living there. But the truth was, there was little to do during most of the year.

From the moment they stepped foot in the Alaskan Frontier, they had only been able to get ordinary jobs such as truck driver and waitress. But they longed for something more. Something more exciting to do with their lives.

Before moving to Alaska, Derek & Lisa both had been research Experts in their hometown of Lalinda, Kansas.

What their families and friends weren’t aware of, although they should have been, the whole purpose of they even moving to Alaska was so they could conduct research in the wild Alaskan Frontier only to discover the particular area they had been interested in had become off limits to non-Alaskans and was turned away.

Now as they were approaching their thirties, They felt the need for a change. After reading about the New Mexico major research challenge, They decided to go for it and applied for the challenge.

Mureka Williams is a research expert and had been for nearly three years, but just like the others, she too was in a bit of a rut. Due to family needs, Mureka was forced to put her research career on hold.

During the last few months, her life had been in sort of a ditch. Her husband DeMarr had taken off with his hot mistress and their only child – son Trey had moved to Europe with his fiancée’s family.

No longer having anyone to come home to or to cook and clean for, Mureka decided to try and resume her research career.

Mureka too applies for the New Mexico major research challenge.

In DeFargos, New Mexico, the business which had placed the New Mexico major research challenge was not your ordinary research business.

These particular business people were into deciphering the top secret Alien Documents they had found in the underground city on which the town had been built with the very evil intention of using the information for their own purpose. But there’s a problem, none of them could read the language on which the documents had been written and needed the help of genuine Human Research Experts to decipher them. That too was going to be a problem. There were tons and tons of those Alien Documents so they decided to hire a small group of the best Research Experts they could possibly find. The younger they were, the more they could do in a short time.

So as a result of a council meeting, the head honcho placed their New Mexico major research challenge ad in the newspapers across the United States.

A few weeks later, the business received numerous applications on their website and managed to cut it down to five young Research Experts: Ava, Ethan, Lisa, Derek & Mureka.

A Month Later

All five of the applicants caught either a bus, a plane or a train to DeFargos, New Mexico. Upon arrival, they were put up in the town’s only hotel that was nearest to the business.

After a day of meeting and getting to know each other a bit, the research experts were escorted to the business headquarters where they were informed of their research deciphering assignments and were introduced to their individual Supervisors.

The first thing the following morning, each research expert along with their supervisor was escorted to their individual offices and given their deciphering assignments.

While three of the research experts didn’t pay much attention to exactly what they were deciphering, two of them took special notice of exactly what they were deciphering and the possible outcome of having such knowledge.

Unfortunately by that time, the business people who had hired them had planned their own agenda in case the research experts were to get way too close to the truth of exactly what they had been assigned to do and why they were doing it.

It was only a matter of time before the research experts realized they had been secretly chosen to expose the shocking truth about DeFargos, New Mexico and its secret Inhabitants plan to take over their town.

Unbeknownst to any of them. Least of all the current Alien Humanoid Species that was currently there, the hidden Alien Weaponry and Alien Diseases had somehow evolved into Humanoid Beings.

As the Human Research Experts returned to their tasks at hand, they were greeted by an Army of Weaponry turned Humanoids who attacked them on sight. While three managed to escape, the last two were lost in the battle. Meanwhile the Mysterious Alien Diseases too had evolved into Humans and had escaped their prison.

This caused total chaos above ground as The Disease turned Humans invade the town instantly killing everyone in sight. Because the diseases were so powerful, all they had to do was simply walk past a natural born Human and that natural born Human would simply drop dead.

Back underground, the surviving thre, e research experts managed to hide in a small bunker there within the underground city while the world outside was horrifically destroyed by the loose Humanized Weaponry and Humanized Diseases. Inside their hidden bunker, the research experts search for an escape passage.

Just when they thought they found their escape, an unexpected earthquake-like event destroyed that escape passage and trapped them inside that hidden bunker.

Conversing With A Night Spirit (Pt. 1)

After enjoying a delicious hot fried chicken supper and taking a long cool shower, Lydia slipped into her red mini night dress and curled up in the hide-a-bed in the living room of her house.

Lydia retrieved her journal off the nightstand along with its pen, but before she could open it, she felt a woman’s presence in the room. She tried to ignore it, but the presence was way too strong.

“Welcome home, Lydia.” A woman said.

“Thanks.” Lydia answered.

“This is your forever home.”

“What does that mean?”

“Your spirit is mine now.”

“Who are you?”

“I am Midnight. You are now my mistress.”

“You’re not human.”

“I was once.”

“When?”

“Ever heard of Ancient Earth?”

“I can’t say that I have.”

“Ancient Earth is my homeland.”

“Is?”

“I am still alive in that time.”

“How can you be there and here too?”

“I’m trapped in between two worlds.”

“How did you get trapped there?”

“The king of my homeland had a sorcerer place a spell on me.”

“Why?”

“To punish me.”

“For what?”

“Disobeying his strict rule.”

“What strict rule?”

“Never have an affair with an alien nephilim.”

“And?”

“I had an affair with one and I had his son.”

“Go on.”

“My son began terrorizing the kingdom.”

“How can an innocent baby terrorize a kingdom?”

“Alien nephilim babies grow up quicker than human babies do.”

“How so?”

“Human babies’ growth are much slower than alien nephilim babies’ growth.”

“Meaning?”

“An alien nephilim reaches adulthood long before a human does.”

“Are you saying they grow ten times quicker than humans do?”

“Exactly.”

“Does that mean your son began terrorizing your Homeland the minute he became a teenager?”

“Yes.”

“What happened to him?”

“He got permanently exiled from the kingdom.”

“You got punished on the account of your son?”

“Exactly.”

“Tell me, how did you get here?”

“The sorcerer placed me here.”

“How long are you supposed to be there?”

“A hundred years.”

“How long have you actually been there?”

“Nearly a hundred and nine years. I’m longing to be free.”

“How can you be set free?”

“Breaking the sorcerer’s spell.”

“Wouldn’t be there a hundred years break the spell?”

“So far it hasn’t.”

“What do you think has gone wrong?”

“The sorcerer lied to me.”

“How can it be broken?””

“That’s why I’m in this house.”

“You lost me.”

“I know who you are Lydia Worrall and I know you’re the human who can help me.”

“I don’t understand.”

“I saw you that day you looked in the window of this house and I knew instantly you’re the human who can help me break this spell I’m under.”

“Are you saying you have been waiting for me all these years?”

“I have.”

“How do you know I was gonna buy this place?”

“By you’re reaction to me saying hello to you.”

“You’re the one who said hello?”

“I am. I also know what you do for a living.”

“How?”

“I just do.”

“How can I help you?”

“You’re a library researcher, aren’t you?”

“I am.”

“You have access to ancient history at the library where you work?”

“Kind of. Why?”

“I need for you to find out who the sorcerers were in Ancient Earth and find their dwellings.”

“Ancient Earth never existed.”

“It did and the library where you work at has access to the Ancient Earth records hidden inside its Archives Room.”

“How do you know this?”

“The son of the couple who had once lived here conducted his family history in that Archives Room at that library.”

“And?”

“He has long disappeared.”

“Excuse me?”

“The young man disappeared one day while researching his family history and had never been seen again.”

“You think he has somehow found an entrance into Ancient Earth?”

“Or is locked inside the Ancient Earth Library.”

“I can’t do anything tonight.”

“You work tomorrow, don’t you?”

“Yes I do.”

“Can you look for it while you’re there?”

“During my break maybe.”

“You can do it at some time?”

“I’ll do my best.”

“All I can ask for. Goodnight, Mistress.”

“Goodnight, Midnight.”

The woman’s presence soon vanished and the living room became silent.

Lydia opened her journal and wrote in the date and time. Then wrote:

Just had the strangest experience. I just had a conversation with a woman I could not see. We had quite a talk. She said her name is Midnight and she claims she is from Ancient Earth. But how can that be? Far as I know there has never been an Ancient Earth. Or has I among millions of others had been lied to all these years? If what Midnight claims is actually true, then I somehow I should be able to find some kind of proof of it and the Ancient Earth Library she spoke up.

Maybe tomorrow. I’m just too tired tonight to look into it.

Goodnight, Lydia.

Lydia closed her journal, put it and the pen onto the nightstand, turned off the light, laid down and fell asleep.

Conversing With A Night Spirit

The day of Monday April 18, 1988 was the most exciting day of Lydia Worrall’s young life. For it was the day Lydia got to officially move into her very own house.

And it wasn’t just any house. It was the beautiful white, one and a half story country house that set on an acre of land on the country road Lydia and her mother Ruth used to take long drives on during her teen years.

It was during one particular country drive that Lydia and her mother noticed the house was empty and decided to pull into the driveway to check out the house along with the estate it stood on.

The house was a beautiful one and a half story white house with a separate garage and a huge yard. At the beginning of the long gravel driveway laid two coach tires – one on each side of the driveway.

While peeking in the house window, Lydia could had sworn she had heard a woman whisper hello to her. Lydia shrugged it off and left the estate with her mother.

Since that day, Lydia could not get that incident out of her head. It was right then and there that Lydia vowed to one day own that very house and the estate it sat on.

Now nearly a decade later, Lydia had managed to buy that very house along with the estate it sat on and was officially moving into that very same house.

It seems her decade long desire has finally came true. Lydia is one happy young woman.

But unbeknownst to Lydia, the house is already occupied by the spirit of an Ancient Earth woman trapped in between two worlds and who is gonna change her life forever.

The Manaville Sisters

Anna Manaville arrived back in her hometown of Jackson Field, Illinois from a twenty four hour road trip from Illinois to Indiana to Kentucky and back home again.

It was the morning of July fifth and just as she had done many times before, Anna spent her Fourth of July on the road with her sixteen year old daughter Ava Manaville.

Although she was forty something, Anna didn’t look a day over twenty five especially with her thick, waste length blonde hair, dark blue eyes and long legs on a slender body.

As for her daughter Ava, all one has to do was take one look at the sixteen year old and one could easily mistaken her for her mother Anna.

While very rare, this mother and daughter could easily be mistaken for twin sisters.

At around eight o’clock am, Anna pulled into Jackson Field and stopped in the Morgan Avenue Café for breakfast.

Shortly after entering the café, Ava and Anna enjoyed a delicious hot pancake and sausage breakfast with orange juice.

While eating, Anna noticed a familiar black pickup park in the parking lot. Immediately, Anna recognized the man getting out of the pickup. The man was her husband Kenny Manaville, but she didn’t recognize the young woman with him.

Who was she? More importantly why was she with him?

Anna got her answer the minute she saw them holding hands as they approached the entrance.

“Why that good for nothing, creep!” Anna scoffed under her breath.

Ava soon noticed her mother’s odd reaction and followed her look to find her father with another woman – a much younger woman.

To their relief, Kenny and the young woman took a table clear on the other side of the café.

Although deep down, Anna knew marrying a lazy drunk like Kenny would be a huge mistake, but she also knew her baby was gonna need a father since her former fiance had died in a freak grain elevator accident in which he got crushed when a door mechanically misfunctioned and caught him in its closing and her only alternative was to either marry a local drunk with a lot of money or a man with very low income.

After sharing a quizzical look, Anna and Ava finished their breakfast. Anna paid for their breakfast and left the waiter a nice tip. They got up and left the café.

In her car, Anna left the café and continued home to their house on Montgomery Lane.

Along the way, Ava closely watched her mother. Ava knew her mother had been hurt by her father’s betrayal.

Anna side glanced at her daughter from time to time and gave her daughter her usual motherly assurance wink and smile.

They soon arrived home and parked in the driveway of their luxurious two story white house, got out and entered the house.

To their surprise, the house was cleaned. No empty beer cans or leftover pizza lying around.

Ava and Anna checked the rest of the house. Everything was in order and cleaned.

Back in the living room, they sat down on the sofa a short distance from each other.

“I have a very important question to ask you.” Anna said.

“No, mother.” Ava answered.

“No, mother?”

“I’m not gonna stay with dad after what he had done to us.”

“You do realize I’m gonna be leaving Jackson Field for good.”

“Yes, mother.”

“You’re still willing to give up all this to be with me?”

“Absolutely.”

“If you come with me, you might not see your friends and relatives again.”

“I’m aware of that.”

“Are you willing to accept it?”

“Yes, mother. When will we be leaving?”

“Soon as I get my next paycheck.”

“That will be when?”

“Wednesday.”

Time Sorceress

Darkness Pass

Chapter 1

On the morning of her seventh birthday just after breakfast, Cleo Collins’ curiosity about her Grandpa Chet Campbell’s mysterious disappearances became so strong that Cleo could no longer resist following Grandpa Chet to see for herself exactly where the old man kept disappearing to.

Cleo began following Grandpa Chet shortly after he left the kitchen. She also left the kitchen. It sure was a good thing they were on summer vacation. Otherwise, she would had been very late to school.

Cleo followed Grandpa Chet through the dining room into the living room on into the entryway of her folk’s old three story house to the steep wooden staircase onto the second floor hallway and down the hallway to the steep wooden staircase that lead onto the third floor hallway.

Grandpa Chet sensed he was being followed, but kept walking. Although he did look behind him a time or two to see who was following him. To his relief, it was only his grand-daughter Cleo who was following him.

While he hated the idea of someone finding out his dark secret, Grandpa Chet knew that eventually someone would find out. Unless he himself decide who exactly that person was gonna be, it might just turned out bad for him.

Since Cleo was so young and innocent surely she would not become a victim of his arch enemy.  With that in mind, Grandpa Chet allowed Cleo to continue following him. He even slowed down a bit so she won’t lose him.

Cleo followed Grandpa Chet through the third floor hallway to the wall at the very end of the long and narrow hallway and stopped short of him as he slowly touched the wall and a black door appeared in the wall.

Grandpa Chet looked back, sensed Cleo was standing in the hallway shadow but shrugged. He turned back to the door, opened the door and entered the doorway. The door closed behind him and disappeared.

“What is this?” Cleo asked herself. “How did Grandpa get through that wall?”

Cleo approached the wall and touched it. No sign of a door anywhere. It was a wall. Just a wall and nothing else.

She thought long and hard but not coming up with an answer, Cleo gave up and started walked away.

Suddenly she remembered the dream she had a few nights earlier and darted back to the wall. This time, Cleo softly touched the wall in the exact same spot Grandpa Chet had done and slowly closed her eyes. As she did this, Cleo slowly walked through the wall into a world she had never been before. Although the world was dark and menacing looking, Cleo could somehow see a tall man standing in a shadowy place next to what appeared to be a cliff facing her.

Cleo froze in her steps.

The man walked towards her.

Cleo wanted to run, but couldn’t. Her feet were stuck to the ground.

Where was she? What is this place? Who was that man coming towards her? Where did Grandpa Chet go?

Everything began spinning around in her head. Just as the man reached her, Cleo passed out.

Cleo finally came to and looked up. She screamed as she saw the tall man was kneeling beside her.

“Hush!” The man shushed. “It’s me grandpa.”

“Grandpa Chet?” Cleo managed to ask.

“Yes, lass, it’s me.” Grandpa Chet soothed.

Grandpa Chet helped his granddaughter as Cleo got onto her feet.

“Where are we, Grandpa?” Cleo asked.

“My homeland.” Grandpa Chet answered. “Please be quiet, lass. We’re not alone.”

“Who else is here, Grandpa?” Cleo asked in a whisper.

“Until I know who it is, please, lass, be quiet.”

“Yes, grandpa.” Cleo answered.

“Hush!” Grandpa Chet snarled. “Stay close.”

“Yes, Grandpa.” Cleo whispered.

Slowly, Grandpa Chet moved back towards the cliff.

Cleo stayed directly behind him.

Just as they reached the cliff, a large black mass lunged at them.

While Grandpa Chet could clearly see through the mass at the demon’s true grotesque self, Cleo could not.

Grandpa Chet grabbed Cleo and leaped off the cliff.

Cleo screamed in terror and quickly closed her eyes as they fell downward towards a coast of huge rocks and it was a long way down.

Chapter 2

As Grandpa Chet and Cleo neared the coast of the huge rocks below, Grandpa Chet spread opened his large wings and they landed safely on the huge rocks below.

Cleo quickly backed away from Grandpa Chet and stumbled about the huge rocks as she tried her best not to fall.

“Careful, lass,” Grandpa Chet said. “These rocks are huge and it’s still a long ways to the ground below us.”

“Who are you? What are you? What did you do with my grandpa?” Cleo asked.

Grandpa Chet closed his wings and they disappeared into his upper back. The man Cleo knew as her grandpa returned.

Cleo was totally speechless. She just realized the man she knew as her grandpa wasn’t a man at all but rather some kind of beast.

“What are you?” Cleo asked.

“I am a mothian and I am still your grandpa, lass.” Grandpa Chet answered.

“Are you a demon?” Cleo asked.

“No.” Grandpa Chet assured her. “Like I said I am a mothian.”

“But.” Cleo hinted.

“Mothians cannot live in the real world.” Grandpa Chet explained. “Only humans can.”

“How can you be a human and a mothian at the same time?” Cleo asked, returning to her normal self.

“I am a special breed of mothian.” Grandpa Chet said.

They heard an extremely loud growl from above. Cleo and Grandpa Chet looked up and saw the large black mass diving towards them.

Grandpa Chet grabbed Cleo, spread out his large wings and flew off the huge rocks just as the mass reached them.

“Hang on, lass,” Grandpa Chet suggested.

Cleo took hold of his neck and held on as Grandpa Chet flew through the dark sky towards what appeared to be a cliff side cave.

“Where are we going, Grandpa?” Cleo asked.

“I’m taking you home.” Grandpa Chet answered.

Cleo looked behind them and saw the mass flying straight towards them.

“Hurry, Grandpa, he’s gaining on us.” Cleo warned.

“We’re almost there, lass.” Grandpa Chet said. “Almost there.”

Minutes later, Grandpa Chet flew in to the cliff side cave and landed at the back wall. Grandpa Chet put her down.

“Quick, lass, go home.” Grandpa Chet suggested.

“How do I do that?” Cleo asked.

“Go back the same way you got here.” Grandpa Chet suggested.

Cleo turned to the wall, slowly touched it and slowly closed her eyes as she walked through the cave wall back into the third floor hallway of her folk’s house only to find herself lying on the carpeted floor.

Chapter 3

“Where in the hell have you been, young lady?” Papa Hank Collins demanded.

Papa Hank was a very tall man of forty-five with thick brown hair, hard brown eyes and a thick mustache. He was dressed in one of his usual cowboy outfits complete with the cowboy boots and a gun belt around his waist along with his usual black waist belt.

Cleo wasn’t sure exactly what to say. She didn’t want to get Grandpa Chet in trouble for endangering her life but then again Cleo wasn’t convinced what had just happened actually did just happened either.

“Well?” Papa Hank hinted.

Cleo got up from the floor.

“Ease off on her, darling,” Mama Ruth demanded, joining them. “You know how adventuress she is when she’s at play.”

Mama Ruth winked at Cleo. When it came to her youngest daughter, Mama Ruth refused to allow her hot headed husband take away from their daughter was the girl’s love of an imaginary adventure. Although deep down, mama knew it wasn’t really imaginary.

Mama Ruth was much shorter than Papa Hank and quite beautiful with very long black hair she always wore up in a bun, sparkling blue eyes and dressed in one of her long blue dresses and black shoes.

“Yes, dear.” Papa Hank said. “Okay, young lady, you’re off the hook this time. But if I ever catch you up here again, I’ll … ”

“Darling!” Mama Ruth scowled.

Papa Hank knew he had been whipped by the Mrs so he turned on his boot heel and stormed off down the hallway.

“Listen, Cleo, I know you love to have imaginary adventures but you need to be a bit more careful at where you play.” Mama Ruth warned.

“Why was Papa mad, Mama, I was still playing in the house.” Cleo argued.

“I know that, dear, but for some odd reason your papa doesn’t like any of his kids playing up here in this particular hallway.” Mama Ruth explained.

“Even Kayla and Cody had gotten in trouble for playing up here?” Cleo asked.

“Yes, they have.” Mama Ruth confirmed. “Now run along and play.”

“Yes, Mama.” Cleo answered.

Cleo passed by her mother and walked off down the hallway to the stairs while Mama Ruth stayed behind.

At the staircase, Cleo looked back and found her mother gone.

Cleo thought about looking for her mother but thought against it and darted down to the second floor hallway and ran to her bedroom.

Just before she got there, Grandpa Chet walked through the wall at the end of the long hallway and joined Cleo at her bedroom door.

“What happened, Grandpa!” Cleo asked, opening her bedroom door.

“What do you mean, lass?” Grandpa Chet asked, following her into her bedroom and closing the door behind him.

“The mass that was chasing us.” Cleo reminded him.

“He’s gone.” Grandpa Chet answered.

Cleo looked at him questionably.

“He’s been beaten.” Grandpa Chet said.

Cleo crossed to the bed and sat down on it.

“Am I a mothian too?” Cleo asked.

“Yes and no.”

“What does that mean?”

“You’re only half mothian.”

“My other half?”

“Sorceress.”

“What’s a sorceress?”

“Cross between a witch and a goddess.”

“Are all sorceresses like that?”

“Only a slight few.”

Cleo yawned.

“”You’ve had enough adventure for one day.” Grandpa Chet said. “It’s bed time now. We’ll discuss this tomorrow.”

“Goodnight, Grandpa.” Cleo smiled, hugging him.

“Goodnight, lass.” Grandpa Chet smiled, gently laying her down on the bed.

Grandpa Chet got up from the bed and left Cleo’s bedroom.

Shortly after grandpa left her bedroom, Cleo got up and changed into her nightgown. Then crawled into bed.

But as she laid down, Cleo saw something outside her window that caught her attention.

Cleo got onto her knees, curled up in front of the opened window. She looked out into the night and saw what appeared to be a tall man walking through the trees towards the house. But as he got closer, the man vanished into the darkness of the night.

Although she found this disturbing, Cleo shrugged it off, laid down and fell asleep.

Chapter 4

During the night, Cleo’s dream became a reality.

Chapter 5

Cleo was awakened at around two-thirty in the morning by the ear piercing sound of thunder. She sat up on the bed, looked out of the bedroom window and saw the severe thunderstorm a brewing in the distance.

She tried to ignore the thunderstorm but for some odd reason she could not.

Cleo looked about the bedroom and soon saw a large brown door with a large silver lock on it. In front of the door was what could be perceived as a wall of suede.

Curious about the door, Cleo got off the bed and crossed the bedroom to the door.

Cleo touched the door lock and felt it. As she did, she felt a slight shock shoot through her fingers forcing her to let go of the door lock.

She felt the lock a second time. This time it didn’t shock her. Cleo was relieved. She ran her fingers over the lock as she tried to unlock it.

Cleo tried pulling on it. That didn’t work. She tried tapping on the key hole. Voila! The lock dropped opened.

She removed the lock and stuck it in her shorts’ pocket. Cleo slowly opened the door and stepped in to the doorway of total darkness. The door closed itself directly behind her. She turned around only to find the door closed. Worse, she was locked inside of whatever it was she was in.

Moon Child

Chapter 6

Although nervous, Cleo turned back around and slowly began walking. Not knowing where she was or where she was headed to.

Cleo adjusted her vision to the darkness as she slowly walked about the area.

As she walked, Cleo tripped over something in her path and fell onto the damp grass. Cleo got up and continued walking.

Suddenly, Cleo fell off what appeared to be a cliff. But as she was falling to who knows where, Cleo felt a strange movement in her upper back as large mothian wings emerged from her back. She flew back up and landed on a distant cliff top.

While totally confused, Cleo was ecstatic at the same time. She just flew like her grandpa for the very first time and by herself.

“That was strange but I’m sure glad it happened.” Cleo smiled.

Cleo turned and continued walking.

After walking for what seemed like an eternity a hint of hope appeared on the horizon. Just off in the distance moonlight pierced through the darkness as it made a trail for her to follow.

Cleo stepped onto the lighted path and followed it directly to what appeared to be an old two story house in the middle of a forest.

As she approached the house’s front porch steps, Cleo felt a bit taller than she was at the beginning of her journey.

What on Earth is happening to her? Why does she suddenly feel taller than before?

Cleo shrugged it off as she approached the front door. She knocked on the door. Nobody answered. She knocked again. Still, no answer.

On an impulse, Cleo tried the doorknob and the door opened up. She stepped into the house and looked about a large living room like room.

Cleo soon spotted what appeared to be a small swimming pool and crossed the hardwood floor to it.

She looked down at the swimming pool like thing and could not believe her eyes. Clearly as day, she could see what was happening in what appeared to be a village.

Minutes later, the image disappeared and she could clearly see herself in a pool of water. Cleo couldn’t believe her eyes for she was no longer a seven year old. Now she was a teenager of sixteen or seventeen or even perhaps eighteen.

“What is going on here?” Cleo asked aloud unaware that she was no longer alone. “Just how long have I been here?”

“A decade.” Answered a familiar female voice from the other side of the room.

Cleo turned and saw her mother Ruth walking towards her.

“Mother, how did you get here?” Cleo asked, straightening up.

“Same way you did, dear.” Mama Ruth answered, approaching her daughter and stopping.

“The door in my bedroom?” Cleo guessed.

“Yep.” Mama Ruth confirmed.

“Does anyone else know?” Cleo asked.

“Just me.” Kayla spoke up, emerging from the darkness.

Cleo looked at her older sister and could had sworn Kayla had also gotten older. But to her surprise, Mama Ruth had not aged at all. This really confused her.

“Mama, tell me, how come Kayla and I have aged but you haven’t?” Cleo asked.

“I’m as old as I’m gonna get, dear.” Mama Ruth explained.

“Why’s that, Mama?” Kayla asked.

“Let’s just say I’ve reached my senior year of existence.” Mama Ruth halfway explained.

“Where are we?” Cleo asked.

“Ancient Earth.” Kayla answered, joining them at the pool.

“During Adam and Eve?” Cleo asked.

“No. You’re in a secret Earth land long before Adam and Eve was ever created.” Mama Ruth said.

Alien Earth

Chapter 7

Suddenly a blinding white light pierced in through the house windows. Within seconds, there was a loud humming noise coming from outside the house.

Cleo, Mama Ruth and Kayla ran to the window, looked outside and was shocked to see a fleet of unique looking starships landing in the yard as they surrounded the house.

They darted away from the window as a group of tall, gold skinned Humanoids emerge from the starships and headed for the house.

Mama Ruth darted into the darkness.

“Quick, girls.” Mama Ruth gestured. “Over here.”

Cleo and Kayla darted over to their mother. Mama Ruth spread opened the cloak that had just appeared from out of nowhere.

“Under here, girls.” Mama Ruth gestured.

Cleo and Kayla ducked under the cloak their mother was holding.

Just as a small group of the Humanoids entered the house, Mama Ruth and the girls disappeared.

The Humanoids searched every single inch of the house and found nobody.

Then they approached the pool and looked down upon it. As they did, a fiery flame shot out of the pool and engulfed all of them in flames.

Mama Ruth and the girls appeared in the second floor hallway of their own house.

Grandpa Chet was there to greet them.

“Welcome home, ladies.” Grandpa Chet smiled.

“Thanks, Grandpa.” Cleo and Kayla smiled.

Cody now a young adult stormed onto the second floor hallway and stormed directly to them.

“My God, Cleo, what have you done?” Cody stammered.

Cleo looked at Cody shocked.

Kayla and Mama Ruth also looked at Cody in shock. They can’t believe what he just said to Cleo.

La Haunte Manor (Synopsis)

Fed up with having to share a tiny bedroom with her younger sisters: Lily, Carrie and Serena and after working nearly all summer long, Lissa Morgan earns enough money to get her own apartment.

Because Fleur, Illinois, only had two apartment buildings. The old grade school building and the town’s newest haunted manor, Lissa didn’t have many apartments to choose from. There was only two apartments available for her. The one Lissa chose just happened to be the tiny third floor apartment in the haunted manor.

In fact, Lissa fell in love with the tiny third floor apartment she had chosen for herself. Deep down, Lissa loved the idea of living in a haunted manor. But she had no idea just how living in a haunted manor was gonna change her life forever.

The haunted manor wasn’t just any haunted manor, this manor just happened to be the former home of the richest family in Fleur – the La Hauntes.

The La Haunte family consisted of papa banker Russell La Haunte, mama housewife Olivia Norse – La Haunte and their children: daughters Michaela and Rosie La Haunte; and sons Ronnie and Jonas La Haunte.

The day she moved into her tiny third floor apartment, Lissa was on cloud nine. She had finally gotten a place of her own and no longer had to worry about anyone invading her space.

Little did Lissa know that from first night on she would have a spirited roommate living there with her. It wasn’t just any new roommate, this particular spirited roommate was the beautiful Michaela La Haunte. The La Haunte’s eldest daughter and child who mysteriously slipped into a potion (containing a small bit of the Datura flower) induced coma like state of existence.

Although he sensed she wasn’t truly dead, Russell decided to place her body in a tomb like room somewhere on the third floor of their mansion.

Because she was not entirely dead, Michaela’s body had remained in great condition despite the length of time it had been locked up in the mansion’s secret tomb like room.

Since then, Michaela’s spirit had been roaming about the mansion searching for the person responsible for her condition and the source of the elements that had placed her in that state of existence.

From the get go, Lissa sensed she was not entirely alone in her apartment.

On the first night, Lissa caught a glimpse of Michaela’s shadow in the bedroom.

In the afternoon on the second day, Lissa met her new roommate  Michaela La Haunte.

After a questionable greeting, Lissa and Michaela began talking, Michaela let Lissa in on a little secret … She’s not really dead, she’s simply lying in a potion induced coma and her body is hidden somewhere on the third floor of that manor.

While Lissa had her doubts about Michaela’s story, she did agreed to help Michaela solve the mystery of her mysterious condition.

During the first week there, Lissa met her new neighbors… Librarian assistant Sunny Davis and bank teller Erica Fisher and mechanic Jasper McKenna.

Unknown to Lissa and Michaela, there is also an enemy (a demon in human form name Kenny Richardson) living in the same apartment building who is determined to prevent them from solving the mystery he had caused out of the determination to keep his own family mystery (he had caused himself) an unsolved mystery forever.

Spirit Surrender

By Judy Kaye Thompson

Prologue

Michaela & I left my apartment and walked down the hallway to Jasper’s apartment at a little past eight p.m.

Jasper had just arrived home from his mechanic job at Hugh’s Auto Shop on the outskirt of town and hadn’t had the chance to shower yet. Yep, Jasper had grease and oil on his shirt and jeans. Jordan was at the front door as we approached his apartment.

“Are you absolutely sure Michaela’s tomb is hidden in a wall somewhere in my apartment?” Jasper asked, opening the front door of his apartment.

I looked at Michaela who nodded.

“Yes I do.” I confirmed. “I’m certain of it.”

“Okay. You can come in and look, but no tearing up my apart-ment.” Jasper said.

“Gotcha!” I answered.

Michaela and I entered Jasper”s apartment. Jasper followed us in and closed the door behind him.

“Look I don’t like the idea of anyone searching my apartment alone. So I will appreciate it if you two would wait until I’ve had a shower.” Jasper suggested.

Introduction

Life in a small town can either be simple and sweet or it can be rough and hard. In some cases, life in a small town can often be a combination of both.

Well, in my case, it’s actually both simple and sweet and rough and hard.

Why?

Let me put it this way, it is not easy sharing a tiny bedroom with three younger girls even if they are a person’s own sisters.

The rough and hard part of living in a small town is not having a private place to go and relax especially in a tiny house on a town square with no front yard and an extremely tiny backyard.

Moving onto my sisters. Each sister has her own way of irritating me.

Hello! My name is Lissa Morgan. I am the person that I speak of. The sisters I am talking about are my own sisters.

Lily who is two years younger than me; Carrie who is four years younger than me; and then there’s Serena who is five years you than me.

While I admit Lily isn’t as bad as Carrie and Serena, but she is irritating. Particularly when it comes to collecting fashion magazines. I mean Lily had collected so many fashion magazines stacked up by her bed that she has to literally cling over those magazines just to get on her bed; and then she spends most of the night flipping through them sighing when she sees fashions she likes.

Sometimes Lily will even cut them out and tack them onto the wall at the head of her bed.

Now Carrie’s not big on fashion but she is a big fan of horror books and I mean every kind of horror novel she can find and buy. Although her reading horror books  doesn’t bother or irritate me, what does is when she reads those horror books aloud late at night while I’m trying to sleep.

That leaves Serena. What does she do that irritates me?

Serena talks to herself pretty loudly almost like she’s trying to make a person clear on the other side of the bedroom to hear her.

Sometimes Serena goes as far as to sneak out of the house and disappear until morning. When she returns, Serena fires off at the mouth waking everybody up except for dad who’s usually up and gone by that time. As for mom, well, she do like it but she does seem to have a way of dealing with us girls.

Me?

Not so much. This was especially rough on me while I was attending school. Thank Heavens I am finally done with school and I have graduated from high school.  My high school graduation happened just about a week ago.

According to my father Sean, I can now get me a job and earn enough money so I can get my own apartment. A place where I can have my freedom and especially a place where I can have privacy.

It has been a few days now since I landed a job as a laundry folder at the laundromat next door to us and I have mom to thank for it.

My mother Laura and Mrs. Marjorie Stetson had been close friends ever since we moved into this old funeral home.

Thanks to their friendship, I was able to land a laundry folder job at the laundromat.

Yes, my mother works there too. She washes the clothes and puts them in the dryers. I take the clothes out of the dryers, fold them and stack them neatly in their laundry baskets.

It’s not always a pleasure pleasant job but a I am wo and earning money.

Yes, this is the simple and sweet part of life in a small town. Most of the time anyway. The only part I don’t like is not being able to sleep at night because of one of my sister’s inconsideration.

FYI, all three are still in school so I do get a break during the day so that does help me out while I am working.

Now if I can just make it through July and August, I should have earned enough money so I can get my own apartment.

Today is Independence Day, the Fourth of July. Mrs. Stetson is giving him and I the day off so we can spend it with family.

Just like all other Fourth of July mornings, this Independence Day begin with dad, Lily and Serena going to Franklin and getting a gallon of freshly made Burgoo and bring it home. Mom gave us all a bowl of warm burgoo. As always, Franklin Burgoo is still delicious. For twelve dollars a gallon, the burgoo had better be good. It is. Simply delicious. I love burgoo.

Moving on, we are spending this Fourth of July at the town lake park.

To my relief, Carrie, Lily and Serena are hanging out with their friends, so this year it’s mom, dad and me. We’re just hanging out at the van next to the lake.

For our late dinner, we had grilled cheeseburgers, potato salad, chips and watermelon. Along with ice cold soda.

Afterwards, I stayed at the van while mom and dad went for a walk.

The fireworks tonight are fabulous! I love fireworks. Most of the time anyway.

We got home about midnight. Had to nearly crawl out of the town lake park, but we finally made it home.

I am so exhausted, I don’t think Serena’s late night sneak outs and yelling as she sneaks back in can keep me awake tonight.

Good morning!

It’s now late August and I am getting closer and closer to earning enough money to get my own place.

According to Mrs. Stetson, I only have two more weeks and I’ll be ready to get my own apartment. She even suggested I go ahead & start looking for an apartment.

For the record, I have been working as a laundry folder for Mrs. Marjorie Stetson who owns and runs the laundromat next to my folk’s home since June.

Today’s  the day I get to start looking for an apartment.

Because Fleur only has two apartment buildings – the old Fleur Grade School Apartments and the recently opened La Haunte Manor Apartments, I don’t really have too many apartments to choose from.

This morning I am checking to see what the Fleur Grade School Apartments have to offer.

I arrived at the office a little past ten o’clock. The manager – a handsome middle-aged man name Oscar Reynolds smiles as I approach the desk.

“Hi.” Oscar said zero looking up.

“Hi,” I smiled.

“Can I help you?” Oscar asked.

“Do you have any apartments for rent?” I asked, sitting down in a brown chair in front of the desk.

Oscar thinks for a few moments.

“Yes. I do believe we have one apartment available.” Oscar said

“Great. How much is it per month?”

“Five hundred and fifty dollars.”

“How many bedrooms and bathrooms?”

“It’s a one bedroom, one bath with a kitchen and living room.”

“What floor is it on?”

“Actually, it’s in the basement.”

“How much is the deposit and application fee?”

“Five hundred dollars and there’s an application fee of thirty-five dollars.”

“Any pets allowed?”

“No.”

“May I see it?”

“Sure.”

Oscar gets the key to the apartment, gets up from the desk rising to a height of way over six feet and escorts me out of the office.

We walk through a long corridor to a staircase. We enter the staircase and descends the staircase into the basement.

Oscar and I enter the basement corridor and walked through it to an apartment door.

We stopped at the apartment door that bore the number Obe-BA.

Oscar unlocked the apartment door and op it. He gesture for me to enter first. I did.

“May I look around?” I asked.

“Help yourself.” Oscar gestured.

I did a walk through of the apartment. While it is in good condition. Clean and seems to have new appliances, the apartment just didn’t feel right to me.

I returned to Oscar in the living room and stopped.

“It is a nice apartment, but there is another apartment I’d like to check out before I decide.” I admitted.

“That’s fine.” Oscar answered, sounding a bit disappointed.

Oscar and I leave the apartment and after returning to the first floor, we go our separate ways. He returns to his office while I leave the apartment building.

Once outside, I walk across the street to Danielle’s Diner.

I enter the diner and take a seat at the counter. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a large Cola.

After I finished eating and have paid for my lunch, I left the diner and headed for the La Haunte Manor Apartments where I’m supposed to meet up with the manager – a woman name Edythe Chesterfield.

I arrived at the front’s porch of the La Haunte Manor in a shirt time later. Edythe was already there and had been waiting for me.

“Good afternoon, Miss Chesterfield,” I smiled.

“Good afternoon, Miss Morgan,” Edythe smiled back. “Ready to see the apartment?”

“I sure am.” I answered.

“Let’s go.” Edythe suggested.

Edythe entered the La Haunte Manor entryway. I followed her into the manor and closed the door behind me.

“I must warn you, Miss Morgan.” Edythe said, entering the living room. “The apartment is on the third floor.”

“I wanna see it anyway.” I said.

Edythe and I climbed the steep wooden staircases – both of them until we reached the third floor.

We stepped onto the third floor hallway and walked along it to apartment number Three-three. Edythe and I stopped at the apartment door.

Edythe unlocked the apartment and opened the door.

“After you, Miss Morgan.” Edythe gestured.

“Thanks.” I smiled.

I entered the apartment and did a walk through of the apartment. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

The apartment looked like a  bedroom suite straight out of a Hollywood mansion.

“WOW!” I exclaimed, emerging from the bedroom. “It looks like a Hollywood starlet’s bedroom suite.”

Edythe laughed. “That might be because the woman whose bedroom this used to be had a fascination with Hollywood and wanted to be a Hollywood starlet herself one day.”

“Did she?”

“Afraid not. Her life was cut short before she could even take a trip to Hollywood.” Edythe explained.

“What happened?” I inquired.

In the mid afternoon of the next day while I lounged on the long beige sofa in the living room of her tiny third floor apartment on Main Street in downtown Fleur, Illinois, halfway listening to music on her cell phone and halfway watching a sitcom on TV, I was starting to fall asleep when I noticed a tall brunette walk into the living room from out of the bedroom and sat down on the sofa a short distance from me.

While most people would be terrified out of their wits, I remained calm.

“Who are you and how did you get in here?” I asked.

“The name is Michaela La Haunte and I live here.” Michaela answered. “You need to explain yourself.”

“Excuse me?” I hinted.

“What are you doing in my bedroom?” Michaela sharply asked with sterness in her voice.

“How can that be?” I questioned. “Michaela La Haunte has been dead for nearly fifteen years.”

“Do I look like I’m dead?” Michaela argued.

“No, but it doesn’t prove you are who you claim you are either?” I protested.

“You are talking as if I’m the intruder here.” Michaela argued. “In reality, you are the intruder.”

“Excuse me!” I said a bit rough.
